My first website—my domain in the kingdom of internet—is a typo. And I’m an editor.
But that’s just my day job. This is my nighttime gig. A time to put my hyper-vigilant, hyper-critical brain on pause. (Though I will rewrite & reread this post at least 8 more times.)
The word I chose, when correctly spelled in Romaji—doitashimashite—means “you’re welcome” in Japanese. When I decided on the name I wanted something that said, “Sure, it’s my domain, but you are welcome here. Come on in. Let’s get cosy.” But maybe I was being a little smug, too, like “you’re welcome, world, here are my pearls of wisdom.”
But then … SHITE.
I guess that’s what I get for trying to be clever.
